WineMadrina

Soy la WineMadrina, also known as the Wine Godmother. I care for your palate! This Madrina decided to pursue her wine hobby more seriously when she moved from Los Angeles, California to Louisville, Kentucky for a job opportunity as a Structural Engineer. By day, I am a passionate 9 to 5 engineer who overthinks all the possible ways a structure can fail and believes in finding ways to make infrastructure more safe. On the weekends, I am the WineMadrina who loves to be in the kitchen and cook Mexican food.

In the Mexican culture, it is common to have Padrinos and Madrinas for EVERYTHING, and I strive to be La Madrina who provides a safe and bilingual space to learn more about wine in a more digestible way. I recently passed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 exam and in the future I plan to pursue the rest of the WSET level series or become a Certified Wine Specialist (CWS). At the moment, I see this hobby as my retirement job but ten years from now, I hope to figure out if the road to sommelier is something I want or pursue some wine business venture, I really don’t know but the important thing is to have fun, be consistent and explore. The purpose of this blog is to document my wine journey and share the knowledge I have gained and pair wine with Mexican food.
